How to Lock-in Your Rate with Baron Mortgage Corporation
You can apply for a mortgage loan, and lock in a rate, during any business day by calling 800-696-SAVE and dialing "5" on the menu prompt on or before 4:30 PM (EST). You must speak with a "live" Loan Officer in order to execute a lock.
During that call, a Loan Officer will pre-approve your transaction free of charge and let you know what documents are needed to support your mortgage loan application. If an e-mail address is provided, this list of documents will also be sent to you within 15 minutes of the finalization of your application phone call. The documents can be either e-mailed back to the same Loan Officer, faxed to 305-661-3545, or mailed to 4901 SW 80 Street, Miami, FL, 33143-6043.
After receipt of your documents, a follow up e-mail or call will take place within 48 hours of receipt of your documents and you will be informed whether any requested document is still missing. Because of new 2010 industry regulations, we can no longer lock loans without having received your supporting documents and a signed completed 1003 mortgage loan application. If time to lock is of the essence, please contact your Loan Officer immediately after having digitally delivered the documents to us.
Please note that you can lock at the rates available for the day that you are calling, not the past ones. Our rates include a lock-in protection period valid for up to 60 days from the day that you lock. (Lock-ins for up to 360 days are also available) When you lock, you pre-pay half a percent of the loan amount with a minimum $500 to a maximum of $1,000.
This money is fully refundable at your closing or if your loan is not approved for any reason, the monies are not refundable if you cancel or stop the process. By locking in, we guarantee you the rate that you select, thus closing at that rate regardless of future market changes.
Access our latest rates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at this site. No rate gimmicks!! (All Baron Mortgage pricing includes a free lock-in for up to 60 days at any time during the process) All rate lock conversations are recorded for your protection. If a discrepancy occurs, you can request a playback of that conversation where the rate selected was stated.
